Local taxpayers will pay a
.004 increase in property taxes. This money will go directly into the
North River fund.
Data obtained from the Cook
County Assessor and Clerk's Office show that the .004 increase would
raise $548,000 annually.
The $548,000 will
be the
budget for the Expanded North River Mental Health Center. It will be
managed by the Neighborhood Governing Commission..
Coalition Mental Health
Professionals estimate that the budget could support
an increase in staff of 23 people through a mixture of professional
staff, interns, and senior clinicians.
The local governing
commission, responding to the local needs and desire of the community,
would determine
the programs and services to be provided. Only
local community members would receive free service.
